This isn't the best high school. Often, the counselors and teachers do not care for the students.
I previously lived in Indiana, and had to move to Louisville for personal reasons, but I had to go to Waggener because its my home school in my cluster, and it was the closest to where I live. My experience at this school was awful, there is no sugar coating it. I only attended the school for 2 days, because of how terrible it is. In the two days I had been there, there was distraction everywhere, there was smell of kids doing drugs in the stairwells during class, kids cuss out loud, like really loud in class. Sometimes even when the teacher is talking to them, the kids talk all through lessons, like in a normal voice or louder, tons of laughter and playing around during lessons. kids were bullied, not me thankfully. there is a open cell phone policy so kids don't do their work and play games and watch tv on their phones during class. The school doesn't even give homework because too many kids were failing because they didn't do their homework. The counselors were not any help. I wasn't even given a locker, they said it would be at least a week before i would get one. Over all Waggener is a terrible school, DO NOT SEND YOUR KIDS THERE! There is no possible way that that you should put your kids in that situation.
I don't know how this school's baseball field ended up in a pastime tournament, but it's a disgrace. Poorly kept field and dated facilities are one thing, but having thousands of beetles swarm the players and fans is unacceptable. Pest control. Try it.
If you can learn to ignore the bad behavior it's not so bad, at least a majority of the teachers care. I have enjoyed most of my freshman year and overall I think it's a good experience.
I went to this school for Eight months and met some awesome people. I skipped school almost everyday, I would walk in one way and walk out another. Overall it was a fun experience. Met some friends that i still talk to after i moved.
